Gamer Galaxy is a video game community that exists mainly on Discord. It has a very long history, stemming back to an IRC network called dab-media in 2007 or so. It has grown and shrunk over the years, and gone through several renames: dab-media, then dab.biz IRC, then Gamer Galaxy, with a lot of mergers in between.
Gamer Galaxy aimed to be a place for people to find other players for competitive games. The focus was Fortnite, VALORANT, and CS:GO. We aggregated stats and wrote news articles for professional esports games, and produced videos on YouTube and occasionally Twitch.
There were plans for users to connect their accounts and gather their stats, and to create tournaments and matches to track them. Some of that thinking carried over into Sidelines.
